HomeBuyerMap ("we," "us") is an independent educational resource about the homebuying process. This policy explains what information we collect through this site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

• Information you provide. If you submit the "Find a realtor" match form, we collect your zip code or city, what you're looking to do (buy, sell, or both), your timeline, and your email address.
• Automatically collected information. Like most websites, our hosting and analytics tools may log basic technical data such as your browser type, device, approximate location, and pages visited.

We do not require an account to browse the roadmap, glossary, myths, or calculator pages, and the calculators on the tools page run entirely in your browser — nothing you type into them is sent to us or stored anywhere.

How we use your information

Information submitted through the match form is used solely to connect you with a licensed real estate agent in our network who serves your area and fits your stated needs. We may also use it to follow up about your request or to improve the matching process itself.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
• We do not accept pay-per-referral fees from agents in exchange for leads.
• We do not connect you to loan officers, lenders, or mortgage brokers — HomeBuyerMap is not a lender and does not originate loans.
• We do not share your information with agents outside the specific match request you submit.

Cookies and analytics

We may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful and where visitors run into trouble. These tools do not sell data to third parties and do not build advertising profiles tied to your identity.

Data retention and security

We retain match form submissions only as long as needed to fulfill the request and for a reasonable period afterward for support purposes, after which they are deleted or anonymized. We use reasonable technical safeguards to protect stored information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information you've submitted at any time by reaching out using the contact details below. If you submitted the match form and no longer wish to be contacted, let us know and we will remove your request.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for adults researching home purchases and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
